Idaho Copper: post PEA Update and on to the Prefeasibility Study
Andrew Brodkey, Chief Executive and Operating Officer, Idaho Copper Corp.
Idaho Copper has been focused on technical work since 2023, with a goal to update and significantly improve the 2020 PEA. Among other things, we have incorporated improved XRF ore sorting technology into our process, which has greatly enhanced the separation of waste, middling/stockpile, and primary mill feed materials, enabling the Company to dramatically reduce the size of the mill and corresponding Capex and Opex. Our PEA update, released in October, demonstrates a very robust project in terms of NPV, payback, C1 cash and AISC costs, and other metrics.
This result allows Idaho Copper to raise additional capital funding with a much-improved market valuation.
Next on the horizon is a Pre-Feasibility Study, which will include a host of potential project upsides which were not a part of the PEA update. These include:
A Tungsten recovery and processing study
The use of in pit crush and convey instead of convention truck-shovel haulage
Additions to XRF ore sorting in the form of MRI or PFTNA/PGNAA sensing which can improve separation
Study of the construction of a molybdenum roaster, complemented by a ferro-molybdenum plant for value-added products
Use of gondola conveyance of copper concentrates in place of truck haulage to a rail loadout
Studies for leaching of low-grade copper sulfide stockpiles and leaching of copper sulfide concentrates
